- A total of 24 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in key areas of Savar-Ashulia in Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj to maintain peace in industrial zones and ensure the safety of workers and the general public amid labor unrest over demands, including higher wages.
- Regular patrols and security operations are underway to maintain a peaceful environment for workers to pursue their legitimate demands, ensure smooth public movement and prevent any untoward incidents, said BGB headquarters public relations officer Shariful Islam on Wednesday afternoon.
- The deployed BGB personnel are performing their duties in close coordination with the local administration and other law enforcement agencies, said BGB.
