- A battery-powered auto-rickshaw speeds in the wrong direction.
- According to a report published by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) data, 3,257 people were killed in 4,910 road accidents across the country between January and July that year.
- The fatality rate per accident was 66.3%. For accidents involving battery-powered rickshaws, the rate was 78.6%. In Dhaka, buses, trucks, motorcycles, private cars, CNG-powered auto-rickshaws, pedal-powered rickshaws, battery-powered rickshaws and pedestrians all share limited road space.
